چکیده

AB The prerequisite for any intervention in the uterus cavity is the dilatation of the cervical canal. The main purpose of this research is to assess that the dilatation by means of the hydraulic dilatator is much less damaging to the cervical canal than the classical alternative, which is more commonly performed and by use of the Hegar dilatators. The procedure: The pathohystological material is obtained by means of a single-stroke curettage on the frontal lip of the cervix, after the dilatation induced by the Hegar dilatators, the hydraulic dilatators and with no previous dilatation in pregnant women and up to 10 weeks of gestation during artificial abortion. Results: Amongst the samples where the Hegar dilatators were used, the hystological damages were present and with severe implications. Individual cases were noted in the group of samples on which the hydraulic dilatators were used. Conclusion: The hystological results confirm the advantage of choosing the hydraulic dilatator over the classical alternative. Accepted by the Scietific Board on 25. 06. 2010. Continuous controllable balloon dilation: a novel approach for cervix dilation

BACKGROUND Cervical dilation using mechanical dilators is associated with various complications, such as uterine perforation, cervical laceration, infections and intraperitoneal hemorrhage. To achieve safe and painless cervical dilation, we constructed a new medical device to achieve confident mechanical cervical dilation: a continuous controllable balloon dilator (CCBD). METHODS Controlled p...
